Kamba Gospel Musicians Stephen Kasolo and Wilberforce Musyoka over the festive season buried the hatchet to end their longest running celebrity beef.

 

Only recently, Kasolo in a live radio session had derisively referred to Wilberforce as a mean artist who cannot mentor upcoming artists

 

The two seem to have however agreed to work together to chat way forward for Kenyas entertainment industry.

 

Kasolo through his Facebook page announced the reconciliation on Friday evening.

For the longest time now, Kasolo famously referred to as Kitole and Justus Myello have ‘chini ya maji’ and indirectly been trolling each other on social media.

In an emotional Facebook post the singer referred to Justus Myello as his Deputy in what sounded like a warning to his latest release Kesho Yangu

Kasolo’s post got a mixed reactions as a section of his followers opposed while others supported him.

In support online users termed Myello’s latest release as an encouragement song and thst there was no secular aspect.

Those of different opinion felt that Myello was slowly joining Secular artists, backsliding.

Kitui’s County FM was among local media houses feted for demonstrating excellence in their services at this year’s Kuza 2021 broadcasting awards.

County FM won the new Patriotic category Regional Broadcaster Award Radio (Eastern) which was introduced by the Communication Authority of Kenya to celebrate all broadcasters who have demonstrated patriotism and made a positive impact in disseminating information and implementing the Authority and Government’s directives on the raging COVID-19 pandemic in Eastern Region.

The theme of the 2021 Awards 4th edition was “Preserving our Heritage through Broadcasting (Kenya a Heritage of Splendour)”, which seeks to acknowledge broadcasters who: Promote patriotism, Uphold Kenyan culture, beliefs, and values, and those who have made a contribution towards national unity and cohesion.

Speaking during the unveiling of the winners, Principal Secretary, Broadcasting and Telecommunications Mrs.Esther Koimett, who was the chief guest warned broadcasters against violating the Programming Code and ICT sector Law.

She commended the regulator (CA) for cracking the whip on broadcasters that have been found in breach of programming standards, particularly those meant to promote the welfare of children.

While some of us are whining about how broke we are, some matatu owners are splashing millions to soup up their rides.

Take the case of Smasher, a mathree that plies the ukambani route (Nairobi – Makueni). The matatu was refurbished at a cost of over Sh2 million.

The matatu has left Kenyans talking, saying that it’s a game changer and a new dawn has come for matatus operating between Nairobi and Ukambani region.

It’s registered under Newlot Investment Sacco.

The matatu has cool Interior and exterior graffiti. It also has audiovisual entertainment equipment comprising of bass woofers and 3 television screens; 42″ at the front and two 22″ on the sides.

Over the years Matatus operating between Nairobi and the Ukambani region have been rendered boring and uncomfortable.
